Snow Tires-need recommendations: Anyone heard of Hercules Polar Trax, Hankook w401?

I've got a friend at a tire distributor who can get me a
good price on arctic Alpins & BFG Slaloms, but he also
showed me Hercules Polar Trax & Hankook w401.

Anyone heard of these other tires (they are a full third less
in cost than the Alpins).

Any info/suggestions would be great.

(for a 93 integra, packed snow/ice, some deeper snow)
