I have Wintermasters (that's the full name, can be seen at www.tirerack.com) on my Taurus. They are identical to the Polartrax; Big O also uses that same design in their snow tires. These are an older design; they don't have the special ice-sticking rubber compound. I run them unstudded, and they certainly are an improvement over all-seasons. Ice - B. Deep snow - C+. No complaints on dry pavement. I used to run them just on the front, until I did some Web research and ran them on all 4. They were alot noisier with just 2.
