PSI Question

Maximum psi on the tire is 45. I have worn out a set and was told by the mfg. to keep the pressure at 40, which I did. Now I have replaced them with the same tire and I am told that the pressure should be 32. I spoke to the mfg. like I did the first time to double check & they told me 32 psi.,which is a different answer then I got the first time. One of the tires keeps going flat and I have had it in to get it checked and they can't find anything wrong with it. Is it going flat because the pressure is too low? I keep getting conflicting information from both the manufacturer and the dealer that installed them. Anybody out there know? Thanks for any replies.
