I am going to be getting some snow tires for my winter beater, which also serves for various ice racing events I will be participating in.
I've got an 89 Mazda 323 that came with 170/70/R13's. I am planning on getting 155/80/R13's because they will be better in the snow. Is that right?
Now, as for the type of tire. I know that for the last few years, the Blizzaks were the best. But then Toyo came out with those tires with the walnut shells. Dunlop has some "multi-cell" tires, as does Yokohama. But the Yoko's apparently also have nylon threads in them, as well as small chunks of softer rubber. And the Yoko's seem to have a more open tread design that would be better in the snow.
Then to confuse things further, Bridgestone came out with the Blizzak MZ-02.
Does anybody have a good idea of what is going to be the best winter tire?
Thanks,
Rob
