Mark, you are right. The D60 A2 are better handling tire. Consumer reports rated
it #1 in a recent test. I did have them in 185/60H-14 in my Mazda Protégé LX.
The problem is that, they don't take rough pavement very well, which is what I
encounter constantly on my way to work every day!

What I am looking for is a tire that will smooth out rough pavement, yet still
give me a little bit better handling than the FR680.

I guess what I am saying is that I want a tire between the D60 A2 and the FR680.
I was hoping that SP20 might be what I am looking for or at least a tire that
is a step up from the FR680.

Also on this BBS, below, there is something about Polaris tires. Do you know
anything about those tires?
