I never had the chance to try either tire... nonetheless
it would seem pretty logical that the SP-8000 is a better tire
than the D40M2 just based on the the fact that the D40M2 is the
SP-8000's ancestor. However many members of the Rx7 list vouch
for the D40M2 because the dry performance is practically identical
and that a less than half price that of the SP-8000. Apparently it is
the wet traction that favors the SP-8000.
