better??? dunlop D40m2 or SP8000, and why?

I have D40M2's [245/45-16] on my 1990 MAZDA RX-7 turbo and a friend of mine has SP8000's on his 1986 CAMARO [255/50-16], we are having a argument over which tire "is or might be better" and why. Any information on this subject will be greatly appreciated. P.S. THAT GUY "THE PEASANT" IS A FAAAAAG!!
