With regard to the Explorer, Michelin recommends (based on information from Ford) that if you're going with an all terrain tire (LTX A/T or similar), a 235/75/15 is the correct size. However, if you're going with an all season (LTX M/S or similar), then the correct tire size is 225/70/15. The reason is that the all terrain tire as a stronger side wall and something or other about center of gravity... Anyway, I'm not sure if the 235/75's in a non-all terrain tire would poses a serious danger or if Ford is just trying to cover their butt. Any thoughts?
