michelins are notoroius for the weather cracking such as you describe, especially on vehicles that see very little travel, i.e. RV's. What can be done in the future to help prevent this, is to cover the tires from sunlight when the RV is not in use, and to apply a vegetable oil to the tires, to help keep the rubber moisturezed.
