I run a set of D40M2's on my 300ZX. These tires are unbeatable in the dry. I spoke to the technical people at Dunlop and they told me they D40M2's are about 10% better than the SP8000 in the dry although the SP8000 is a better overall tire (meaning wet and dry). The tread blocks on the D40's are much larger and the grooves are smaller than the SP8000 and the RE71 and this translates into a bigger foortprint. A friend of mine uses RE71's on his MX6. The RE71's are overly soft and tend to squirm when cornered hard. D40M2 are the standard tires used in the Rothman Porshce Cup in Canada.
