I will soon be replacing the OE tires on my 1996 Honda Civic EX sedan.
The originals were 185/65R14 Firestone FR680s. I was very disappointed with both
the wet and dry performance and am surprised Honda even puts these on their cars.
The primary attributes I seek are dry handling and cornering, wet cornering, and resistance to hydroplaning.
Long tread life and snow traction are of little to no importance. I was considering
the Continental CH90, Dunlop D60A2, Yokohama AVID H4 and A509, Pirelli P600 and P6000,
and Goodyear Eagle Aquatread and Eagle GAs. They would be in either
the OEM size or plus zero to 195/60R14. Any comments or expeirences with these tires would be
appreciated.
