I have heard that the SZ50 Firestone is excellent in the dry or in the rain when new. I have also heard that as the tire wears, it doesn't quite perform as well in the rain. I would give the Firestones a cautious yes.

The original tires on the Cobra which are the same size are the BFG's. If you keep the pressure up in them, they perform a whole lot better in the rain. They also seem to last a long time (30k miles or more).
