It really depends. Normally the tires that have a taller sidewall will get better mileage. (i.e. a 195/75 will get better mileage than a 195/50). The reason is "normal" tires are usually in the 65-85 range, while performance tires can be as low as 35-40, and performance tires wear quicker than a typical, normal, all-season tire.


The taller sidewall will also improve snow traction if that is a concern.
