Tires for Alfa Spider

i need suggestions for tires ( i'm considering the RE930) for my 1987 alfa spider. would also like input on what size is best for competent handling. i currently have cheap 195-70-14 from the previous owner. the dry handling is only fair and the car is scary in the rain.
