If I were in your situation, I would take the tire with the plug to a professional tire installer, have a belt-reinforced "inside" patch installed. This will require removal and re-installation/balancing on the rim.

A properly installed patch is safe for the front of your car. A plug is an accident waiting to happen. In California a garage that installs a plug on a tire can be held liable for personal and property damage caused by a failed plug.

Here's a little tip, any good tire technician would never plug a tire.
