Sir:

I have seen bad things with all Firestones (ex. irregular wear, seperations, etc.). The X-Ones would not be to bad as far as ride comfort goes. But for durability I would suggest running with the Uniroyal Tiger Paw AWP (All Weather Performance). They come in two different sidewall choices; Whitewall or Raised Outlined White Letters. If I remember correctly the OE tires were Firestones on your '86 Aerostar. Then Ford made the switch to the Michelin XW4 whitewalls which I would not recommend at all due to problems I've seen with those tires on the Aerostars.
