As Robert mentioned, the new tire is actually a bit shorter than the original. It seems bizarre to me that the smaller tire would rub when the original didn't. I guess it is possible that the reduced aspect ratio shifted the widest portion of tire lower causing it to rub. I would go out and actually confirm that the tire shop didn't put a different size tire on by mistake.
