My son was driving his 89 Mustang on a freeway at 55 mph when the right rear tire - a Uniroyal Tiger Paw - literally came apart, causing a serious accident. The car was totalled and the driver was injured. Police report indicates cause of accident as "defective tire." Is there a history of this kind of thing happening to Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires? I am planning to seek reimbursment from the manufacturer, but would appreciate any information on the subject that you would care to share. Thank you. Richard Erickson. rerick77@flash.net
