Discount Direct and Disount Tire are the same company, Direct is the mail order "division" and the only real competitor to Tire Rack.
Tire Rack (Discount Direct probably does also)has a recomended installer program if you ask, I believe it is also on their web site when you go as far purchasing tires there but I don't think you can search it w/o actualy purchasing tires. These "authorized" or recomended installers will actualy let you ship tires you purchase via mail order diectly to their business rather than to your home and have to load then in your vehicle and bring them. No it does not matter if you purchase them mounted on wheels or not. Though if you purchase them mounted they come balanced and you could install them yourself just like changing a flat (spare tire).
