One additional thought not related to equipment. You don't say if you are parked in the same location every time the problem occurs. If it only happens while parked at your home, perhaps there are some neighborhood children running around exercising their sense of humor. Reminds me of the old tale of adding gasoline to the neighbors car at night ... he can't understand his phenomonal gas mileage!
