One way to help estimate the correct inflation is to look at the load capacity of
the 2 sizes involved. The 215/60R15 is rated at 1345 lbs at 32 psi while the
235/45R17 is rated at 1146 at 32 psi.
Your tire dealer didnīt follow the guidelines for maintaining the load index
when changing tire sizes so you have a bit of a problem.
I would not go much lower than 28 psi in your application as you will
certainly loosa stability. I would just live with the tread contact as
part of that is dependant on the tire construction.
