Mike H is correct. I got an email from Firestone, which echoed the exact thing. They put a chemical in their mold to prevent cracking, which can turn brown, or light colored rings. My car is a show car, and they offered me a credit, which will allow me to buy BFG Radial T/A's. Funny, how I never saw this on any other tire, and the 20 year old Goodyear GT Radials I took off my car were BLACK and had 0 cracks or dry rot. Why does Firestone/Bridgestone think their tire will crack in a few years is what bothering me. I never heard of such a thing. Oh well, at least they were honest, but I can't wait to get the rich, dark, good looking and performing BFG Radial T/A's on my car!~
