FIREHAWKS vs RADIAL T/A/s

I have a 1978 Corvette> Indy Pace Car. Last year I put on a set of the Firestone SS10 Firehawks. Not bad, but it seems on almost EVERY vette 72-82 that I see, they're running the BFG Radial T/A's. Did I make a mistake? Any thoughts or opinions are appreciated!
