I installed 15x7 BBS forged rims on my 96 Camry SE V6 Coupe with aforementioned 215-60-15s in "V" speed rating--first Yokohama S4Vs (great tires but watch the rotation schedule like a hawk--set up to be pretty noisy if not), then Pirelli Supertourings--not as satisfactory a handler but quieter and softer ride, but not bad and still V. Nevertheless, had it not been for the "can't refuse" deal on the closeout BBSs, I would have much preferred to step up to 215-55-16s per the TRD kit, and I would suggest same. While toyota charges a premium for the TRD BBS 16x7s, they are very nice and if you can possibly suck it up $ wise, I think this is the way to go--or get cheaper "aftermarket" BBSs or other in 7" also. Esp with the rest of the TRD kit, why do you not want to "complete" the package? Would seem a shame to miss the opportunity! Also, the little BMW-style (80s style) lip spoiler on the full TRD kit (or available separately?) seems to be just what the doctor ordered for a dress up of the 97+ Camry back end! Anyway: I've driven Camrys with 16s in the 215 size and they're great!! Really crispens (?) the handling. I think that 6.5 for a 215 is marginal--but "ok." Definitely go 7s, or 7.5 is fine but the upper end. I view it that way--that for a performance tire application, the admittedly narrow 7 to 7.5" range is appropriate. Good luck!
