F150 4x4 LT or P tires?

I ordered a 99 F150 4x4. I have heard Fords have more front outside tire wear than other trucks
Would a stiffer "LT" tire minimize tire edge wear? Would a taller tire like a 255/85R16 (33"dia)
help. How much stiffer would the truck ride with "LT" tires than "P" tires? I would prefer taller
tires for better look but want to consider ride and tire wear, Thanks in advance.
