Strange tire wear

I have a 1989 Southwind motorhome and I just noticed the right front tire had a strange
wear on it. Both the inside and outside edges are 'cupped' - ( worn low then not worn )
about an inch to an inch and a half all around the tire. I seem to remember someone
told me what caused this but I don't remember. Is it shocks - or aligment or what ? ?
