Several years ago I purchased a set of Bridgestones for my
Bronco 4x4 they were Desert Duelers with raised white letters
they had an aggressive tread design but were made for everyday
driving. The tires looked great on my truck. When the sidewall
was slashed in a parking lot I tried to replace it. I had less
than 900 miles on the tire and found when I went to buy one nobody
had one in stock because the manufacturer discontinued them. So
they located the tire on thier computer about 800 miles away
and I had to wait for a week for the tire to arrive. My advice is
to go to a Yokohama instead, you can get a 18570T14 for less $$$$
and a 70,000 mile warranty compared to Bridgestones 50,000 and
not have to deal with the runaround I went through with Bridgestone.
I have been to Calgary and it is a beautiful city. You have terrific
freeways and a lot of recreational activities in the nearby mountains.
If you spend a lot of time city driving with the occassional trip to
Banff, then you would want a touring tire to give you good handling
and long milage . In severe winter driving you would want to have a spare
set of rims and snow tires to pull you through the winter unless you drive
sparingly in the winter then you can leave these on.
