Diane,
Your term "private label" is a misnomer.A "private label" brand refers to an independant tire brand that contracts the building of its tire to one of the major manufacturers. For example the "Cordavan" brand is independantly owned. They pay Kelly-springfield and cooper tire to manufacture thier tires. All Michelin tires "so marked" are made by Michelin. What Michelin tries to do is offer different products to the different chains of supply in order to keep them from competing against themselves. For example Sears is a tremendous tire purchaser. Michelin makes several models exclusivley for them and the Sears owned NTB stores. The Michelin "weatherwise" for example, is only available trough sears or NTB. The Michelin x-one is what they call a" broadline" tire. This tire is available at all Michelin dealers. If you need to purchase an ultra high performance tire such as the MXM
I recommend you go to an independant Michelin retailer. That tire is very expensive and you really ought to seek out an experianced proffesional and consult them before you make such a purchase.
