Any experience w/ Cooper Discoverer STE??

While driving at about 60 mph on the freeway yesterday, the tread blew off of my left rear Cooper Discoverer STE (P255/70R16) on my '96 Ram.

Has anyone had any experiences with this tire (good or bad?)

They have a 50K warranty and only had 31K on them and Cooper is working with me on the damages to my truck (~$2,400) but I'm just curious about anyone else's thoughts on this.
