There was a recall early this year for 96 and early 97 Pathfinders for a suspension problem that caused faster then normal tire wear, (see link below). Also a condensation problem with the muffler. This was in the guise of "quality assurance upgrade program". My 96 came with General which were also crap but I dutifully rotated them and got about 33K miles from them. I suggest Good Year Wranglers. Goin to 75's not a problem.
