Amy,

Michelin makes a tire called the Alpin. It has been around for three or four years now. I tried it for a year and a half, and I was very pleased with it. I lost the use of them when some idiot T-boned my car in perfect weather conditions. Michelin even went as far as to offer a 4 season warranty on them last year. They have a unique feature of having twice as many sipes (traction grooves) at 50% of tire life. So you have a higher traction as the tire wears. I think it is an excellent tire, with exceptional life expectancy. Do not confuse this with the Artic Alpin, as this is a high performance winter tire without the doubling sipes.

Check them out, I am sure you will be pleased.

Dominic,
