Yes, it makes sense. Bouncing causes cupping. From whatever is causing the bouncing, (out of balance, bad shocks, etc.). If the dealer beleives it is from a lighter rear, consider reducing tire pressure all around. I'm assuming you do not load the vehicle most of the time, so this would be safe as long as you maintain enough pressure for the weight of the vehicle with the passengers and full gas tank included.
