I am buying a '99 Chevy conversion van which will be ready for pickup in 3-4 weeks.
The converter puts on 275/65 r15's (I believe they are Uniroyals) but I can save a bundle by staying with the factory issued 235/75r15 aluminum rims and wheels. The converter says the wider tires will improve handling and give the vehicle a softer ride and strongly recommends them.
Questions:
Will the vehicle handle better with wider tires?
Will the ride be softer?
Will the tires wear out any quicker?
What driving conditions will the wider tires become a burden?
Will the wider tires affect ABS performance?
