Im again looking for light truck tires and invite owners comments.Here is what I know about tires on explorer/ranger tires in run the northeast (PA) area;

Firestone ATX (stock tires) suck, Long wearing 48K miles on original set and 48K(15K/explorer+ 33K/Rangersupercab4x4) on set taken off wifes explorer (I am so glad they have finally wore out). Only 1 nail puncture/patch at 48,000 but the big problem is poor wet/cold performance. Compound is too hard and slips when cold or wet. also severe hydroplane in rain.

Pirelli scorpions put on wifes explorer. Excelent traction and wet weather performance. Wearing faster than ATX but after 30,000 (estimate 45K mile life) the best I found yet.

Uniroyal tiger paws on 89/Rangersupercab4x4 good but I thought the side walls were too weak. Mushy handling charicteristics.

looking at goodyear gsa's as compared to duellers and maybe a low end sears/cooper for my work ranger.
