I went ahead and bought Brigdestone RE910s yesterday - so far so good! Everything I've read seemed to indicate that they were what I was looking for, and with the 30 day "test drive" I figured I couldn't go wrong. They do handle better than the GAs - at least dry conditions - and are supposed to be designed for great wet handling. As for snow, I'll probably never know because I live in Florida!
I'll check back to this BBS periodically, and if anyone's interested I'll let you know if I'm satisfied.
