Michelin X-One for '95 Ford Taurs: too hard driving comfort?

We need new tires for our 1995 Ford Taurus, replacing the original tires of the
car. We are considering the Michelin X-One.

I've read lots of good feedback regarding the X-One in the different postings here,
but have a concern: "stiff" driving comfort.

We are looking for a tire for good traction including in the rain (even California
doesn't have that much of it, once it rains, it poors. And the "dusty" roads
suddenly become slippery). We do some mountain driving during the ski season.

Other tires we were looking at: Goodyear Regatta, Winston "Sterling" 100K (but
I feel buying a Winston tire would be like buying a Kirkland tire from Costco).

Any feedback welcome.
