Ford Van with Goodyear Wranglers

I have a 90 Ford E250 Club wagon with Goodyear Wranglers, I think they are 245/16LT.I put on wider 8" rims to accomodate the tires, and now I have a roaring sound that I hadn't noticed before. Has anyone else experienced this?
