P400's what is the word, good or what?

I am in the process of getting tires and have been quoted pirrellis 400's. I understand the brand is supposed to be good however the $45 per tire has got me concerned. Can someonegive me more assurance . I understand that consumer reports rated them well but I can't veryfy that.
