Are you sure it's a 205-65-16 and not a 15 inch OR instead a 205-55-16, which seems more likely. If you're at 205-65 ANYTHING, you're too tall in the looks, power (assuming a similarly tall rear tire), speedo and handling department. Ditto for 911s. 205-65-16 hardly exists (at least in any performance type), and the 205-65-15, essentially a Camry/Avalon or large Mercedes OEM size--would seem taller than either one would want or might fit???!! The latter is most common and closest to the factory intended running diameter. The most common late 70s Porsche practice was/is 205-55-16s front, 225-50-16s rear. No need to go "larger" than 205-55s in the front (ever) or 225s in the rear unless you have a hopped up motor "demanding" the extra traction. Also, always good to keep at least a 20 mm spread front to rear on any rear-engined Porsche. If you do want to go larger in the rear, stay 205 front (50-17s) and go to something like 245-40-17s rear. ...But, the 912 just doesn't have the hp to "justify" that kind of increase. Stick with the 205/225 16 lay out.
