Hello,

I am sympathetic to you in your tire woes. I too am a Volvo owner, but have a larger tire on my sedan. Being a tire dealer, I have seen (and sold) many of the low profile tires for the Volvos, after an incedent with potholes. If I do recall, it was a Michelin Pilot tire that was the potholee in my instances.

Yes, they are more suseptible to damage, and if you are in NYC, that is multiplied by the tenth power. Those cars can be downgraded to a 15" rim tire combo, and can even have a 55 series tire installed in its place (larger sidewall)

Good luck, and safe driving.

Best Regards,
