I had a Mustang GT and own a Cobra. I don't have a specific recommendation for you, but I think you should going for a H-rated tire for the best traction and handling. Be careful not to purchase a "touring" tire. Often, these types of tires have flimsy sidewalls. They ride like an S rated tire and wear like a H-brand.
You may want to go two tire up and go with a lower profile tire. Be careful not to change the outer circumference. It will change your speedo reading and might mess up your computer.
