"High Performance/All Season" OR "High Performance/Snow" tire combination???

Anyone have any comments on whether I should go with a "High Performance/All Season"
OR a "High Performance/Snow" tire combination (2 sets of tires for the 4 seasons.) I live in Toronto with enough snow in the winters to warrant "snow" tires, but don't want to lose performance once the snow gets cleaned up (usually by the next morning of the snowfall.) With these new "Ultra/High Performance All Season" tires coming out, is there still a trend to go with a snow tire plus a performance (or all season) tire?
