I have D60 A2's (195-70 14) on my 95 Camry. Worn out at 40K. I haven't seen
any discussion on this BBS about the type or number of plys in the tread and
sidewalls. My D60's have 5 ply treads (2 poly+2 steel+1 nylon) the sidewalls
are 2 ply (poly). The tire dealer tells me the current D60's are 4 ply tread
and 1 ply sidewalls. Do the number of plys matter any more? Some of the dealers
do not have ready info on the plys without going to the store room and looking
at the tire. I also cannot find any information on this subject on the Michelin
or Dunlop websites. Any comments or help on the subject of tread and sidewall
composition and number of plys??????
