I've been through four sets of Yoko AVS Intermediates on my 911SC and agree that
their most outstanding feature is their wide, forgiving traction range... high
performance is available, but without nasty suprises. I feel they are an ideal
3-season tire for the 911 or any other high performance, throttle-steerable car.
The downside is tread life... I have never gotten more than about 20k miles from the
rears and 30k from the front (nowadays I change all four together). This is on
a 200 hp car that spends a lot of time at high slip angles and occasionally gets
a taste of Laguna Seca... YMMV if your car is much different. Enjoy 'em while they last!
