I decided to get the SZ50's. Should have them by Saturday. In response to what Frank says about flat-spotting -- this is not uncommon on a high horsepower rear drive car. I used to have a Firebird Formula 350 and just about every tire I had on the rear ended up with a bare middle. I suspect this is due to the fact that when you do a burnout (intentional or otherwise), the tire expands at the center due to centrifugal force and thus wearing away more rubber in the center than on the ends. Just watch a top fuel dragster do a burnout and you'll see what I mean.
