1997 J30 PERFORMANCE

The J30's 210 horsepower, four-cam 24-valve 3.0L V6 engine blends powerful output with fuel efficiency. And when combined with an electronically controlled four speed automatic transmission, speed sensitive power assisted rack and pinion steering and power assisted four wheel disc brakes with ABS, yields what Infiniti calls, "one highly evolved machine."

Rear Multi-Link Suspension
For years, automobile suspension systems have had two arms or links that connect each wheel to the chassis of the car. Infiniti created a way to connect a third link to the chassis, creating an even more stable ride and improved handling at any speed. In addition, the J30t also features front and rear stabalizer bars that are designed to reduce body roll during cornering.

Electronically Controlled Transmission
The Electronic Concentrated Control System (ECCS) gives every J30 extremely smooth up-shifts by working in tandem with the engine. The lockup torque converter not only reduces cabin noise, it helps the J30 achieve a respectable EPA* estimated 18 mpg city and 23 mpg highway.

*EPA-estimated figures are for comparison purposes only. Actual mileage may vary depending on driving conditions.

Four Wheel Disc Brakes w/ABS
The J30 four-wheel power assisted disc brakes are highly responsive with excellent brake pedal feel. Under heavy use on hills or steep grades, the provide superior fade resistance. And in slippery situations, the anti-lock braking system (ABS) helps you maintain control during critical stops providing both safety and performance.
