I am looking for all season recommendations for my '91 GTi. Currently on Kuhmo Supra 712 ECSTA but they turned out to be too big (and scrape the wheel wells) even though I replaced the same size Cooper Lifeliner II

I have a sport suspension package and am looking for 205 50/15 which I think will be a better fit.

I have been looking at Dunlop SP Sport 5000 Asym. but they are a bit pricey. My VW mechanic is recommending Hercules G3000V or HP4000 but have no experience with Hercules. Other Store recommendations have been Yokohama Parada (or Marada??)

I live in NYC (many potholes) and like to drive to the Mntns in winter so, should have decent winter traction.

Any help is appreciated!!!!

Dave

I drive a CRX with an integra type R engine in it and I also use the 205/50 15 size because I find it provides the best combination of handling, stability, and uneven road surface absorption. I would go for the Hercules tires, which is what I got on my car. They are cheap, really tough tires that last pretty good considering my driving. You can really take a turn nicely on these tires and break away is predictable so you won't suddenly wipe out without realizing what happened. In the rain they can hold the road pretty good. I used to have a set of bridgestones which were a little better on wet corners, but they cost double what my hercules tires cost. Acceleration grip is great for stop light drag races.
