PJDUNKERLEY unregistered	posted June 22, 2002 07:10 PM I recently purchased a 1996 Nissan Quest. The check engine light came on at 77500 miles. The tachometer sometimes fluctuates at a difference of 2k. the factory tire size was 205/75/15 and the tires that are on it now are 205/70/15 , would this cause transmision troubles and / or idle maladies?The tach fluctaution occures after hiway speeds upon return to a stop . donfromnaples unregistered	posted June 23, 2002 08:25 AM It is not the tires. Sounds like a transmission problem, maybe the sending unit since your service engine soon light comes on. Have a technician find out what error code your computer is storing so that you can get it fixed ASAP. Good luck. IP: Logged
Fernando unregistered	posted June 29, 2002 10:29 PM The proper size on 70 series tires for these vans should be 215/70-15 and not 205/70.
