Does anyone have experience with Nokian Hakka 1 snow tire on ice and snow? Driving a FWD Saab 9000 Aero. Winters vary from very dry to snow, slush, and occasional ice. Mostly city driving but do drive into Rocky Mountain snowy conditions in the winter. I like the idea of T rated Hakka 1, for my Saab over the Q rated Hakka Q's, because I do like to use turbo & drive faster when dry! Prefer studless because more than 80% of driving is on dry roads. Any opinions appreciated.IP: Logged |

The previous post was asking for experience driving with the Hakka 1's without studs on ice & snow.I am also interested in experience driving on the Hakka 1's studded on dry pavement. My local vendor says they are more dangerous on dry pavement with studs because the friction of the steel on dry pavement causes the tire to grip poorly. As previously posted I drive 80% dry, 20% snow & occasional ice in the winter. Thanks for responses to anyone driving on Nokian Hakka 1 studded or unstudded. Saab Guy IP: Logged |

Hey Saab Guy!You should consider as an alternative the Nokian NRW, which was designed specifically for the conditions you stated. Lot's of dry winter days interspersed with occasional hazardous winter conditions. It has an H speed rating and handles well on a Saab. THe Hakka 1 would be was designed for much more severe use than you are suggesting you encounter. You can see the NRW at our website, www.eTires.com.
