After using the Michelin Radial X, I am ready to get a new set, I am looking for another options because the Michelin worned out quickly. I live in Florida and wet traction is one of my major concerns, also long mileage. What brands would you guys recommend me to get? I narrowed down to Yokohamas, Toyo, Bridgestone, GoodYear. Any recommendations? H-rated will do it and no more than $100 per tire. Any places online that I could buy them that you guys recommend? Thanks in advance. dannickhms@aol.comIP: Logged |

Well, for a tire that sticks well in the wet, lasts at least 45,000miles, is at least H speed rated and is affordable, then go with the Bridgestone RE950. They cost $74 each at tirerack.com. I think you will love these tires.IP: Logged |

After doing some research I found good reviews of the Aquatred 3 from Goodyear. Any coments about this tires?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess you drive your Mustang rather aggressively. Anyone who likes to drive fast needs a performance-oriented tire. Most all performance tires will sacrifice mileage for handling. That's the trade off. If you want tires to last, slow down. Having said that, the Goodyear Aquatread 3 will give some good tread life and do well in the wet. It competes directly with the Michelin X-One which is frequently discussed here. But neither are performance tires. Same with the Toyo 800 Ultra; another high-mileage touring tire Personally, I like the Toyo Proxes FZ4 for the Mustang. I think that would be a great choice for the price. Also shop the Yokohama Avid V4 or AVS dB, and the Bridgestone RE950. Put the new Dunlop SP Sport A2 on your list. IP: Logged | |
